I Made My Own Ipsy Bag…Sort Of…

Hello, everyone. I’m guessing you guys kinda thought I forgot about this wee site because I have been away so long but I didn’t, of course not. I’ve just been a bit busy…I know, I know. Everyone is busy, BUT I’ve been busy creating, and I think what I’ve created is pretty great. Not in the my child is better/prettier/smarter than any child ever kind of way, great in the you are constantly doubting if it is a good idea so you know it has to be a great idea kind of way. I know I am not the only one that functions like that, am I?

Anyway, let me tell you about the idea, and then you can judge the greatness, fair enough?

I wanted a subscription box for bloggers but I couldn't find one, so I made my own.

I was driving home from work one day doing some thinking, as you do, and I got pretty excited because I thought my Ipsy bag was probably waiting for me in the mailbox. Ipsy bag day is super exciting for me because I love getting that little surprise package. Doesn’t it just feel like it’s your birthday or something? But the more I thought about it, the more I realized that it is really rather silly for me to even be subscribed for Ipsy since I barely wear any makeup (eyeliner and chapstick) and I’m not that big on beauty products. I literally only like it because of the surprise factor.

Naturally, my next thought was “what if I was subscribed to something else?” I would still get the same excitement, but I would be getting products that I really wanted and would use (I basically hand all the makeup and stuff to my teenager after I open the bag, she loves that I am subscribed). I started brainstorming what I would like to get instead (driving is great for brainstorming), and I decided what I would like most is stuff for my blog. I got busy googling when I got home but didn’t find what I had in mind. I wanted something to send me stock photos, fonts, templates, social media tips, and planner printables. You know, all the stuff I want for my blog. I just couldn’t find what I was wanting…

So, I made one.

That’s what I have been busy with for the last few weeks. I have set up shop! I am super excited to announce my brand new blogger monthly subscription service called Just Add Blog.

My first JABbox (you like?) is set to go out on August 15th, and subscribers will receive 5-7 digital items for just $10 per month! I already have some great things all prepped to send out, and I am soooooo excited to get moving.  I have already created the storefront using Shopify, created a review and points system to earn extra credit (JABpoints), created a landing page for the newsletter and updates, and created an affiliate program. See! I have totally been busy!  If you are a blogger, I swear this is the subscription box for you!

Do you subscribe to any “boxes”?  What do you love about them?

  1. Well, look at you, girlfrayun! All entrepreneurial and stuff. Love it! Since I am no longer blogging, I do have a question for you. How hard was it to set up Shopify? Just curious. For a friend. Named Me.

    1. It took me a minute to figure out WordPress too, and I am sure that I am not using it to full capability yet! I’m no expert by any means, but I am happy to help where I can 🙂
